*sponsored content* In my last reading lately post I promised that these will come more frequently if you want to. And since a lot of you commented that you want to see these kind of things up here, there it is: my second post in the “reading lately” series.
I have to admit that I haven’t been able to read much lately. January turned out to be so stressful and I was in some kind of mini reading slump for a few weeks. However, I still managed to finish a few books in the last months. Also there’s been a slight switch in my reading habit: I started to enjoy browsing through magazines – paper & online. That might be due to my travelling but I found out that it can actually be really fun. But more on that later, let’s start with books:
I started the Grisha trilogy about 1,5 years ago but never actually got around to finish it. Now, however, I finally read the final book in the series. This one was slightly darker than the other ones and even though I did not expect the ending to go like that I kinda really liked it. Only problem: I feel like I’m getting to old for these kind of YA series and the first half of the book was extremely tedious and annoying to me. Rated: 3.5/5 stars
Lydia is dead. But they don’t know this yet.” What an incredible beginning to an even more fantastic novel. Everything I never told you is a tale about race, love, family and revelations. Celeste Ng had me in tears literally throughout the entire novel. Would definitely recommend! Rated: 5/5 stars
P&P is a classic that I wanted to read for the longest time now. But for some reason I never got around to actually do it. I have to admit that even though I had to read it for university I quite liked the story. However, it just wasn’t as fantastic as people always claim it to be. Rated: 3.5/5 stars
I’ve never been a magazine kind of person. I just always thought that it’s a waste of time and money (duh, most magazines have online versions anyway nowadays). But after I was featured in the Madonna magazine I naturally had to buy it – no brainer, right? A little later I decided to buy the Miss Magazine as a girl I sometimes chat with on Instagram (hey nina) is doing an internship there. Plus they featured some of my favourite Austrian bloggers in it. And once I realized that these magazines actually are really fun to read I bought some more at the airport to read while I’m travelling.
Also I recently got into reading online magazines. You guys know how much of a Michael Buchinger fan I am – well, if you follow me on Snapchat that is. And once I found out he’s writing columns for Advize (some kind of online guide from Zalando) I just had to check them out. Naturally they are hilarious and extremely fun to follow – just like his videos. Perfect for me, as I’m generally more a lover of written words instead of films/videos. Honestly, you should check them out – I especially was grinning my way through his “new year, new me” column. So hilarious and true!
What have you been reading lately?
