I don’t know about you but I am a sucker for smoothies and fresh juices. Yes, I do love cake, pizza, pasta & anything else that is sugary, salty and absolutely unhealthy. But I also have an unreasonable high love for fresh made smoothies. Even better that I finally got my hands on a pretty new smoothie maker a few weeks back. Honestly, it feels like a gift sent from heaven and I’ve been using it almost daily ever since I got my Kenwood Smoothie 2Go Mixer*.
So today I decided to share my all-time favourite smoothie recipe with you guys. I feel like the Internet is so hooked up on all these pretty much difficult green superfood smoothies that require you to own matcha powder, a professional blender, dates and whatever else there is. My recipe, however, is the easiest thing ever and consists of only things you’ll have at home anyway. Or that are not too difficult to get your hands on as they’re available literally everywhere.
My trick for smoothies is to pre-freeze all the ingredients in little “smoothie packages”. So all you have to do is grab a package from your freezer, put it into your Smoothie maker, add some water and mix! This does not only save you a lot of time and nerves, it also is amazing for saving money. You might have thrown away these brown and spotty bananas but now you’re gonna cut and freeze them so you’ll be able to enjoy a yummy smoothie at any given time – sounds perfect if you ask me!! For the smoothie on the pictures I used fresh ingredients only – for the sake of the pictures. There’s no difference in taste whether you use fresh fruit or pre-frozen ones!!
How to make this delicious and fresh very berry smoothie:
- 1 banana
- 1 hand full of strawberries
- 1 hand full of raspberries
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar or honey
This very berry smoothie recipe is so easy, I don’t even have to tell you how to make it. But I’ll do it anyway. Grab your fruits and berries. Cut them into small pieces and put them into your blender. Add some water and sweetener. Press the blend button. Now blend until everything is smooth and pour in a glass. Grab your drink and enjoy your berry smoothie!! Thank me later :P
I know this isn’t a particularly exciting recipe. However, the main purpose of this post wasn’t to provide you with a fancy smoothie recipe. I rather wanted to draw attention to the fact that sometimes the easiest things are actually the most delicious ones. No need for fancy super food when there are yummy fresh fruits and veggies around. No need to fancy up this smoothie by adding weird and exotic ingredients: the plain taste of strawberries, raspberries and bananas is enough to hijack into paradise!
What’s your favourite smoothie recipe? Do you also think a smoothie needs to be fancy or are the simple ones good enough for you too?
