One thing I most certainly have perfected over the years is packing (light). From a “let’s pack everything and 4 more pieces” person who goes to Italy once a year I turned into a quite frequent traveller who, more or less, knows what they’re doing. That is why today I want to talk you through my travel beauty bag.
When we travel we usually try to as often as possible travel with only a carry-on suitcase. It’s just so much easier, faster and you don’t have to suffer through the whole “damn it, where’s my suitcase” panic after landing. However, it definitely limits your packing space. Especially when it comes to beauty products. Below you’ll find everything that’ll be in travel beauty bag. I honestly gotta admit that I’m not the biggest beauty buff. That’s probably why I’m not really having a hard time narrowing my makeup stash down to the essentials for city breaks and getaways.
My Travel Beauty Bag | The Essentials
LA ROCHE POSAY – EFFACLAR DUO(+) UNIFIANT * = This product comes in extremely handy when travelling. Basically, it’s a tinted day cream for acne prone skin. I felt like it did help me clear my face a bit and also covers the most of my blemishes just fine. When I’m travelling I usually don’t wear too much makeup as, to me, it just gets annoying throughout the day. So the lightweight coverage of this one works perfectly for me.
VICHY NORMADERM NIGHT DETOX = This night cream is a rather recent discovery for me. The woman at the drugstore recommended me this cream and I actually really like it. So this product definitely has to come with me on my upcoming travels.
COCONUT OIL = I use coconut oil for basically everything. However, what I take it with me for is makeup removal. There’s no product that comes even close to coconut oil when it comes to cleaning your skin after a long and exhausting day exploring.
- BURT’S BEES LIP BALM

LIPSTICK = When travelling I tend to take a nude-ish colour with me that I can wear both, during the day and when going out in the night. Currently, I’m loving MAC’s “Honeylove” and “Velvet Teddy“.
KIKO POWDER = To add a little definition to my face and set my makeup/tinted day cream. Quite often I only use powder when I’m having bad blemishes or for dinner/a night out.
M.A.C. “FALSE LASH WATERPROOF” MASCARA * = Mascara is probably the only beauty product I use on a daily basis. This one from MAC is bomb dot-com.
M.A.C. STROBING CREAM * = Lucky me got sent this product in summer in a travel size. And I’ve been taking it with me to travels ever since. I honestly love this product. As my day cream is rather matte I usually mix in a lil’ bit of the strobing cream in order to make me face look more alive. Such a great product.
ESSENCE HIGHLIGHTER PEN “WAKE UP, SPRING” = Another essential for long and exhausting travel days. I use this highlighter pencil in the corners of my eyes and my lower waterline to make my eyes appear bigger, brighter and more awake.
CATRICE EYEBROW KIT = I’m currently on the hunt for a better eyebrow kit. However, what I’ve been using the past few months / years is the one from Catrice. It’s super cheap and easy to use. So if you know a good one that doesn’t cost a fortune, please let me know!
