New years resolutions. We all know them. We all hate them. And yet, most of us secretly still have some. So that’s what I’m going to ramble about in my very first edition of my new “Sunday chat” series. I wanted to have some space to share my thoughts and views on various topics and discuss them with you guys – so here we are. And I hope you like this idea as much as I do because I cannot wait to chat with you in the comments down below :)
I know that some people think this whole new year, new me thing is absolute nonsense. But you know what… I kinda like it. I love finishing my old planer and shelving it. I love starting my new planer. 366 blank pages in a new book, waiting for me to be filled with thoughts, events and to-do list. To me there’s nothing better than waking up on the first of January and realizing that the old year is over. No matter what happened – it is now the past. I sure can’t change what I’ve said and done in 2015 but now that the year is over I can finally move on. Move on and start fresh.
Only reading what I just wrote sounds so odd to me. Because technically I know that the only thing that changes on January 01 is the date and year in the calendar. I am still the old me. But for some reason it just gives me so much motivation and inspiration to make the new year the best one so far. Okay, enough rambling. Here are…
My new years resolutions for 2016:
Save money: Classic I know. However with me being all brave and quitting my part-time job in order to have more time for blogging this task is really important for survival. From February onwards I will be a part-time blogger next to my studies, which basically means that I have no fixed income and will have to save a lot of money in order to be able to afford my food :’D Let’s hope it wasn’t that bad of a decision and teaches me a lot about life.
Travel more: Quite honestly, this resolution has been on my list ever since I caught the wanderlust. Each year I wanna top the preceding one. Travel more, travel different. I just can’t stop and I hope 2016 will be filled with awesome travels. If you want to see my travel bucketlist for the new year then you should check out this post.
Stay focused and work hard: My possibly biggest goal for 2016 is graduating from University. Aka finally finish my Bachelors degree. Honestly, I still don’t know what I’m gonna do afterwards but for now my focus is on passing all the exams and being able to finish my studies at latest next winter semester. Also this resolution is really important to me when it comes to blogging, I wanna give 300% in order to create awesome content on here and be able to continue doing what I love: writing and being creative.
Try to be more outgoing: You might not know this but I’m a really introvert and shy person. I’d always prefer staying home and drinking tea to going to the club and dance like there’s no tomorrow. Because there IS a tomorrow and I am an old lady. No just kidding – but I really wanna make an effort in getting better with small talk (ugh!) and being more outgoing and NOT socially awkward.
Read at least 50 books: In 2015 I managed to read a hella lot of books tbh. In order not to put too much pressure on myself I decided to not expand the challenge but reduce it to 50 books. I really hope I’ll at least be able to finish this amount and who knows, maybe I’ll expand the challenge halfway through the year. By the way – you should definitely check out Goodreads if you want to challenge yourself to read more in 2016.
What do you think about new years resolutions? And if you have some, tell me about it :)
