To me September is all about getting back into old habits. That includes going back to University 4 times a week, eating healthier and finally getting back into my sport routine. I honestly have to admit that I’ve been super lazy in the past 2 months and I do definitely see the result this had on my body. Not only did I lose my shape, I also got super bad skin and ,worst of all, feel like a 60-year-old chain smoker when I climb up the stairs to my flat. DUH! So when I was asked if I wanted to take part in the “7 Days – 7 Ways” project I immediately said yes. What is more motivating than new workout clothes? Well, ok I admit it – I didn’t buy anything new but you get the idea.
Ok let’s talk about my sporty past: I started off going to the gym 5 days a week in January 2014 – I was full of motivation, I worked my ass off and did get amazing results. However, after some time I completely lost interest in going there. Last month I actually quit my membership there since I realized that I basically pay for my gym-card to collect dust in the drawer – big no no! Once I started to ignore the crowded gym I tried to get into yoga and did the 30 days of yoga challenge by YogaWithAdriene. Doing Yoga everyday made me realize that I quite liked that sport – I continued doing 30 minutes of Yoga until I went on vacation at the beginning of July. After coming back I completely ditched all kinds of sport and just chilled around for almost 2 whole months #lazylife.
Now I’m back in Graz and I want to get back into some kind of routine. I’ve always wanted to take part in a little marathon or city run but my stamina is awful (and when I say awful I mean it, yesterday I almost died climbing up the Schlossberg in Graz and that’s only a teeny tiny mountain/hill) so I decided I might try running 2-3 times a week. Additionally to that I want to continue with yoga since I really liked it and it gave my body exactly what it needed. Other than that I found some amazing fitness courses which I also want to try in September. You see I’m rather motivated at the moment – let’s see how that will go :D
What kind of sports do you do? And what do you do to stay motivated?
