Pokémon is, once again, taking the world by storm. However, the latest addition to the franchise isn’t your usual “let’s stay indoors all summer and play” kinda game. Pokémon Go is addictive, fun and makes people go outside. AND you can use the game to get fit for summer. With the Pokémon Go Workout.
I would say that I am a rather incentive driven person. I don’t like running because it’s good for my health. I wanna get something in return. And “the summer body” simply isn’t enough. Pokémon, however, made it much easier for me to get my lazy ass of the couch and out on the streets. This Pokémon Go Workout isn’t only extremely fun, it’s also a VERY effective workout. Plus it makes me want to get out of bed in the morning. So that’s a plus too.
THE POKEMON GO WORKOUT | What you’ll need
- A fully charged phone
- The Pokémon Go app (duh, obviously)
- Workout clothes – at least running shoes would be advisable
- Pokémon Incense
- Determination to catch ’em all
The Pokémon Go Workout = 30 Minutes HIIT Running
The Pokémon Go Workout basically is a 30 minute HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) Running workout. What you’ll want to do is use your Pokémon Incense to attract them for 30 minutes. Then you’re gonna set off and run. Not run as in jogging but really run (think, sprinting). Whenever your phone starts to vibrate (it does that when a Pokémon is nearby) you’re gonna stop, have a break and catch that motherf*cker.
So that’s 30 minutes of fast sprinting and stopping to catch the Pokémon. It’s fun. It’s intense. It’s effective. And you’re gonna catch SO MANY OF THEM! I honestly have never had so much fun working out and literally cannot wait for tomorrow morning to go on my next mission. At the same time, I have never been so wrecked after a workout. I’m feeling sore in every muscle. But it’s so worth it if you ask me. In order to get a wider variety of Pokémon, you can switch up your running routes. I’d highly recommend doing the Pokémon Go Workout in the morning as there won’t be many other players out and you can play without server problems. Seriously though, how can you not love working out like this?
Anyone else as obsessed with the app as I am? And have you already tried the Pokémon go workout? Let’s talk in the comments below :)
