One of the things I love most about autumn is that it is the perfect time for watching netflix. I seriously don’t know what my life looked like before I got myself Netflix?! Like, where did I watch my series? Did I really think “normal TV” would justify my need for good TV shows? And how did I manage to wait an entire week before watching the next episode?? Someone please explain!
To me, nothing says autumn more than curling up in bed or on your sofa, wearing your favorite cozy sweater, drinking a huge warming cup of tea and watching some Netflix with your loved one (doesn’t matter if that’s your boyfriend, best friend, cat or pizza). So that’s why I decided it was important to me to talk you into my netflix favorites… because nothing says more about a person than the TV Shows/movies they like to watch
/ obsess about.
Sherlock: The BBC Sherlock series is one of my all-time favorite things in the world and I’m 100% positive that this is never ever going to change. In my opinion Benedict Cumberbatch is the perfect Sherlock and there’s absolutely no show so well made or addictive as Sherlock. Not gonna lie, as I’m a huge fan of all things British the fact that it’s set in modern day London makes it even better to me. And if you ever tell me that you do not like this show I will judge you personally and there’s not the slightest chance of you ever being friends with me. #sorrynotsorry
See, I do take my series very seriously. Plus I really cannot wait for Season 4 to finally air!
House of Cards: When I first started watching House of Cards I wasn’t expecting it to be that good. Sure I heard people talk about it and knew that it was supposed to be really good. However, I always figured I wouldn’t love it because it’s heavily based on politics. Truth is: I’m loving it and currently debating whether to binge-watch Season 3 in one sitting or try to only watch 1 episode a week to drag it on for as long as possible. Claire Underwood is one of my favorite female fictional characters – such a fierce and badass woman! Also I love how Franc kind of always gets what he wants… so entertaining!
Orphan Black: I honestly can’t begin to explain how much I love this series. Tatiana Maslany is one of the most talented actresses ever – I mean, duh, she almost plays every main character in this show. Other than that I find the biological gene cloning topic super interesting and think they developed a rather comprehensible and realistic stance on the matter. Orphan Black was the first show I ever binge-watched on netflix and will therefore always hold a special place in my fangirl heart. Cannot wait for the 3rd season to finally be uploaded so I can get back into the crazy world of Sarah, Felix and the clones.
Sense8: When I first started this series out of boredom I wasn’t sure what to think about it and it took me several episodes to get into it. However, once I finally started to like and understand what was going on I was hooked. I love how open-minded this show is and how it explores different cultures, sexualities and gender identities. If I had to choose a favorite character I’d definitely go for Riley, Amanita, Kala and Wolfgang
(duh, I ship the two of them so much). I’m so happy they decided to make Season 2 and cannot wait to see where the story of the sensates is leading them to.
Orange is the new Black: Granted, OINTB is one of the most hyped TV shows at the moment. I feel like everyone and their grandmother is watching and loving it. So am I. When Season 3 came out I binge-watched it within a week and had such a great time doing so. However, apart from Ruby rose (duh, girl crush) I sadly didn’t particularly enjoy Season 3 – let’s hope Season 4 will be better again! Anyone else hating Piper’s character?
Modern Family: I always need a show that I can semi-watch while I’m either studying or working on the blog. After obsessing about Top Gear (I think those of you who follow me on Snapchat “miss.getaway” know what I’m talking about) I just recently discovered Modern Family as my go-to “casually watch” program. It’s funny, it’s only 20minute long and it doesn’t have a super complex plot – absolutely perfect if you ask me. As I just started I’m only on Season 2 but whatever^^
What’s your favorite TV show? Do you watch any of these series? If yes, what do you think about them?
*btw, I am well aware of what “netflix and chill” really refers to but wanted to use the phrase anyway because of its catchy-ness :D
