Can you believe that it’s already the 1st of April? I can’t but I am utterly happy that we’re approaching summer fast. I honestly couldn’t be happier about winter finally being over and the sun having found her way back here to Austria. Spring/Summer here we come! Another month down means it’s time for my monthly love list! As usual I’ll tell you all about my month in one (more or less) short post. Here you’ll find all the movies I’ve watched, books I’ve read and things I’ve done in March!!
Due to my birthday on the 9th of March, this month has always held a special place in my head and heart. I usually am not the biggest birthday lover but this year I’ve had a bloody brilliant birthday week. I started into my birthday with a delicious brunch at Freiblick with my boyfriend and had a wonderful birthday bash at one of my dearest friends with all of my loved ones. I hardly ever throw parties and/or go out but this one has been fantastic! On the weekend after my birthday I flew to Frankfurt for the weekend, where the boy, me & his family attended a wedding and enjoyed a good time. You can read about my Frankfurt adventure HERE!
Then, after another week in Graz I finally headed home to Carinthia for the Easter holidays. I always love going back home to see my family again because I usually don’t see them throughout the year due to me living about 2 hours away from my hometown. After a heavenly Easter weekend (duh, all the food!!) I went back to Graz for a day and then headed straight to a spa trip in South Tyrol where I’m actually still at right now.
Being back in Carinthia always equals watching quite some movies as we have a lot of free-time here. My movie-highlight was definitely Cowspiracy – I’d recommend EVERYONE to watch it at least once in their lifetime. It’s such a brilliant documentation that can help to change the world so much.
- The Imitation Game (bloody brilliant, Benedict Cumberbatch FTW)
- London has fallen (very action-y but very thrilling to watch)
- Kingsman (A+++, one of the best movies I’ve ever seen)
- Men in black 1-3 (duh, a classic)
- Cowspiracy (MUST-SEE, changed my view on so many things)
- Maleficient (great but kinda boring)
I finally got back into the reading game and am enjoying it to the maximum so far. My highlight this month definitely was The Rosie Effect. I had so much fun reading it and would definitely recommend it. (Also the first one, it’s a brilliant series)
- After You – Jojo Moyes (3,5/5 stars)
- Wo steckst du, Bernadette?* – Maria Semple (4/5 stars)
- The last days of Rabbit Hayes – Anna McPartlin (4,5/5 stars)
- The Rosie Effect – Graeme Simsion (5/5 stars)
This month I’ve been feeling extremely thankful for all the amazing feedback I get from you guys. Both my “Why I blog in English” as well as my “Blog envy” columns have gotten amazing feedback. I recently gave an interview and was asked what my favourite posts to write for the blog are and I immediately answered that I loved writing personal columns the most. That’s why I am so happy about your positive feedback! You make me so stupidly happy you guys! And I want you to know that I really appreciate you reading all this nonsense that I come up with!
Favourite posts from March:
It’s always so hard to select just a couple of “favourite posts” as there are so many brilliant bloggers out there! But anyway, here’s a selection of my favourite posts in March 2016. Have a look at them and also support these wonderful people!

Plans for next month:
Quite honestly, I don’t have many things planned for April except going back to University next week and starting to study for some upcoming important exams. Oh and I’ll go on a spa weekend with one of my best friends in a couple of days and I really am looking forward to it. Other than that I’ll plan nothing and spontaneously see what April has to offer me. As for the blog, I am currently planning on changing my blog layout so Miss Getaway might go offline for a few days this month. Oh AND I’ll hopefully finally get my butt of the couch and start working on the summer body. :D But I’ll definitely keep you updated on that and anything else that’s going on in my life via Instagram, Snapchat (miss.getaway), Facebook and Twitter.
How was your March? And what are your plans for April?
