Where to stay in Graz: Hotel Wiesler

*INVITATION* I often get asked about places to stay in Graz, where to eat, and what to do. This is why last year I initiated the Graz category on my blog – to share my favourite places in the city and help you guys with planning your visit. It’s no secret that I absolutely adore Graz and am utterly happy about my decision to make it my new home. Last week, Lisa and I got together to produce new content for both our blogs. For this, we collaborated with the Hotel Wiesler, who provided us with the most amazing room for our shooting day.

I always get asked where to stay in Graz so I thought I'd quickly answer the question with a hotel review of the Hotel Wiesler in the city center. Read more

Hotel Wiesler Graz | A Gem in the City Center

I’ve already been to the Hotel Wiesler a couple of times, as my mum slept there when she was visiting me in Graz for more than one day. From the outside, you’d never expect the Hotel to be as amazing inside as it is. From the first moment I stepped inside, I was hooked. While the entrance area is designed rather modern and minimalistic, the hallways are held in a rather nostalgic 20s vibe and the rooms are another world on their own.

The Hotel Wiesler is located right at the Mur, placing you right in the middle of the action. From here, you’re able to visit all the important sights and restaurants within a couple of minutes by foot. Additionally, the rooms provide you with a magnificent view over the Mur and the Schlossberg. The staff at the hotel is incredibly friendly – at least that’s what I experienced. Furthermore, you’ll find plenty of great amenities in the hotel, such as a barber, a spa area and one of the best restaurants in town.

The Rooms: Junior Suite

The room we got for the day was one of their most iconic ones – the Junior Suite. The highlight of the room was most definitely the free-standing bathtub. However, the rest of the suite isn’t too shabby either. And by “not too shabby” I mean, one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve ever been to. The only thing I really cannot tell you much about is the comfort of the mattress, as I obviously didn’t sleep in the bed. My mum, however, did not complain when she was staying at the hotel and that does mean something!

The room was super clean, bright and airy. The interior is absolutely Pinterest-y and I adored the view over the Mur, towards the Schlossberg and the city center. Each room at the hotel is designed in a unique way – but always are they super pretty. I’ve also seen the standard double rooms and believe me when I say you won’t be disappointed when you’re searching for unique but super pretty design.

The Breakfast Buffet

Now on to my favourite part; the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant, the Speisesaal. I think I’ve started each and every hotel review on the blog with the exact same words when it comes to my breakfast buffet review, but I just love brunch so much. The Speisesaal is the place to be when it comes to brunching in Graz. For about 16€ you can have a rich and delicious breakfast in a super cool atmosphere. BUT, do call and reserve a seat before, though, as it tends to be booked fully on the weekends.

There virtually is nothing you’d want to have that the Speisesaal buffet doesn’t offer. From fresh fruits and cakes to a chocolate fountain, fresh salmon, and lots of veggies – you’ll find what you desire. You can either get coffee from the machine or order freshly made coffee variations to your table and there are lots of different juices available for grab. We went for a variation of different dishes and enjoyed them in the sun. Nothing better than starting the day with a huge breakfast before heading to town to do some exploring.
