3 Coffee Hotspots in Graz

3 Coffee Hotspots in Graz

One thing I get asked almost on a weekly basis is what my favorite coffee hotspots in Graz are. You guys know how much I love me my coffee dates and I never shy away from recommending and promoting my finds on Instagram. On here, I never really entered this topic in too much detail tho. If you browse the Graz category you’ll find a few recommendations, however, in the meantime, I found a great number of new restaurants and coffee shops to share with you.

Truth is, when I moved to Graz I was kind of disappointed to find out they didn’t have any Starbucks here. Don’t blame me – I was 18 and had no idea what good coffee entailed. However, over the past three years, I came to really appreciate the coffee culture in the city. I adore the small independent coffee shops that it has on every corner. Love wandering around town and discovering new coffee hotspots. I thoroughly enjoy sitting down with a gal pal and chatting for hours on end, holding a warm, freshly brewed cup of coffee in hand.

So today I want to show you 3 of my favorite coffee hotspots in Graz.

The Ducks Coffee Shop probably is my all-time favorite place in Graz. It’s the coffee shop I go to the most often. Their coffee is delicious, the staff is incredibly nice and the atmosphere is just to-die-for. I love the clash of homey feeling mixed with the warm, rich and welcoming, smell of coffee in the air. Once you open the door to Ducks Coffee shop you’ll find yourself in a paradise for interior lovers and coffee obsessed alike. Plus: it’s still kind of a secret-spot and never as crowded as the other coffee hotspots. If you’re there do try their apple crumble pie. This in combination with a hot cup of soy cappuccino, a good friend at hand and watching the passerby’s from the big windows is what pure bliss feels like to me.

Tribeka probably was the first coffee place I really and utterly fell in love with here in Graz. They have four different shops spread all over the city. However, the one at Kaiserfeldgasse is my absolute favorite. Their coffee is delicious, their snacks are yum and the bagels are incomparable. Nowadays, I tend to not love their coffee as much as I used to because the soy milk they use isn’t really my cup of tea – apart from that I still love going there and working from there. I already wrote a very detailed review on the blog, which you can check out HERE if you fancy.

The Promenade is a rather new find on my personal coffee hotspots in Graz list. I always marveled at the gorgeous building when going to uni and home but somehow never really managed to go inside. A little ago, though, I finally did and I honestly wasn’t disappointed. They serve breakfast that is not from this world for a relatively fair price. Their coffee is delicious, too. And the location is just so beautiful. Definitely, something you cannot miss if you ever find yourself in Graz. Big plus: the interior is just so Instagram-friendly. No, but seriously, Promenade is one of my latest addictions. Their lunch is delicious and so versatile. But that’s for another post ;)

    Ducks looks especially beautiful! x

    • 13th March 2017 / 2:30 pm

      It’s my absolute fave x

  13. 15th March 2017 / 11:22 pm

Meanwhile, where I’m from we have an abundance of Starbucks and not much of little coffee shops with great ambiance (such as your faves)

    • 16th March 2017 / 10:33 am

Oh no that’s awful. I think independent coffee shops are so much better than these big chains.
