Admittedly, I am not the most craft-y person on this planet. When it comes to Christmas gift wrapping, however, I turn into Santa’s favourite elf. There’s nothing I enjoy more than trying to come up with simple yet beautiful and unique gift wrap ideas. And since I already have most of my Christmas gifts at home and ready wrapped, I thought I’d them with you guys today.
I’ve always been a big fan of wrapping presents. Even back when the wrapping paper I used was cheesy printed one from the stores. Nowadays, I tend to go for rather minimalistic styles with a unique touch. I love using different ornaments and ways to decorate the plain paper and make every present as special as it can be. And I think this year they turned out quite lovely. There’s nothing like seeing your presents stand out under the tree and having your family members congratulate you on them – this way the present itself doesn’t have to be super special. The wrapping is there to impress!

In order to master this simple, cheap but special gift wrap idea, all you need is:
- Plain brown or white wrapping paper
- Lace doilies for cakes
- Small Christmas ornaments
- (Real or plastic) greenery
- A labelling machine
- Cords, Washi tape and/or bows
I’m not going to give you an instruction here because in the end all you gotta do is wrap your present in brown wrapping paper and decorate it with your tools. I usually try to put most of my presents into small boxes (e.g. the ones from the Glossybox or other beauty subscription boxes) because I find square presents easier to wrap and prettier to look at.
When it comes to name tags, I love to use a labelling machine and/or simply write on the present in black ink. This would look 1000 times better if I had calligraphy skills but well. Another great idea is to simply use washi-tape to decorate your present, just like I tried with the black and white Christmas tree. Sometimes, I do grab one of my old printed wrapping papers, though! Especially if it’s minimalistic, yet super festive like this one from IKEA.
