In my last post I promised to show you the results of the outfit shoot we did in snowy Vienna on Wednesday. So here they are. As Vienna was pretty much a winter wonderland that day we didn’t have to go far in order to find a fitting scenery for the pictures. Everything was snowy, glittering and white – so pretty and absolutely perfect for blog and Instagram pictures. Duh, blogger problems!!
To be quite honest, I am not much of a winter person. I’d rather skip snow and have sun all year round. However, we can’t influence the weather – so here I am, accepting my fate of one day freezing to death and trying to make the best of it. I can definitely see why some people might love winter. It does have some advantages like not making me feel guilty for staying indoors and doing nothing at all. I also like that it’s kind of socially accepted to gain one or two pounds during the colder season because you don’t have to wear your bikini – hell yeah, give me all the chocolate!!
The perfect outfit for a walk through a viennese winter wonderland
As you can see on the pictures, I’m pretty much all wrapped up in blanket scarves, thick cardigans, cozy jacket
(fake fur collar btw) and my snow boats. Truth is: I was still freezing! In winter I couldn’t care less about looking like I weigh a thousand kilos – I just want to cuddle up and stay warm. I literally don’t understand how some people can go outside with only sneakers and jeans – like, do you not realize how cold it is? Anyway, I found the outfit was absolutely ideal for strolling around the winter wonderland at Volksgarten for an hour before heading to Starbucks to warm up from the inside with a delicious coffee or tea.
On the pictures you can also spot my new camera, which I am utterly in love with. I splurged a little this Christmas and treated myself to a new Olympus PEN. I usually use my old Nikon D300 for blog photography but I wanted to get a smaller one for traveling for the longest time now. When I saw this pretty little thing on sale on Black Friday I just had to order it. And even though it did cost me quite an effort to spend so much money on one thing, I do not regret it at all! I feel like this camera will take my photo skills to the next level as it’s so much fun to use. Cannot wait to get more lenses and play around with it.
What about you, do you like winter? And what do you think about the outfit?
