I generally would call myself a rather optimistic and happy person. I laugh a lot and always try to see the good in people and the world. However, I am also very easily pushed off the edge emotionally. I cry all the time and easily find myself lost in situations where I’m not sure I’ve made the right choice. With many things changing and going on in my life right now, my gratitude journal becomes a more and more important part in my life. So today, I want to share 5 happy moments; or, in other words, 5 things that make me smile right now.
5 Happy Moments
1 WALKING THROUGH THE RAIN. Yesterday evening my mom and I took off on a little stroll through the neighborhood. We’re both nature-focused people and love going on long evening walks while chatting. Halfway into our walk, however, it started pouring. I can’t remember the last time I had to run home, completely wet, in the pouring rain. And it was one of the happiest moments in a while. Why is it that we stop doing these things that we loved doing as kids as soon as we grow up?
2 COFFEE DATES AND SUPPORTIVE FRIENDS. Nothing beats coffee dates with cake and good friends. Or catching up with old ones after not having seen them for weeks. Huge shout out to my friend Alina from Blackbeachchair at this point, who helped me tons in the past few weeks and without whom I’d probably never be as satisfied and happy with the situation I am in right now as I am. You’re a real gem girl!
3 LISTENING TO MUSIC AND JUMPING AROUND IN NOTHING BUT AN OVERSIZED HOODIE. One of the best things about living alone – never ever having to wear pants. I’ve been living in oversized hoodies and shirts for the past week and really appreciated the bliss and solitude of living alone. Singing along to 90s playlists on Spotify included, of course!
4 SEEING MY ACNE CLEAR UP. After months / or years of suffering from acne and really bad skin, I now finally can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve started a new treatment a couple of weeks back and can already see a few small changes. It’s still bad but will hopefully get better in the course of the following months.
5 FINDING MY WAY BACK INTO READING. Moving and all the stress surrounding university and my life, in general, has left me without much spare time on hand to sit down and read a book. Now, I finally found my way back into my book and I’m really enjoying it. Sitting down in the down and reading a few books is something that makes me feel content right now.
What are your happy moments right now? Let me know in the comments below :)
